Hill & Knowlton welcomes new senior leadership to its industry-leading Federal Procurement team

Hill & Knowlton (H&K), Canada’s leading public relations and public affairs firm, is proud to announce the addition of Neil Brodie as Senior Vice-President & Lead, Federal Procurement, to its team in Ottawa.

As a strategic leader with almost 25 years of experience in procurement and public affairs, Neil brings a wealth of knowledge on how to navigate major public sector procurements, informed by his years of experience as senior political staff to Ministers of Public Services and Procurement Canada, Treasury Board, and Industry Canada (now ISED).

During his time in government, Neil was an integral figure in the biggest defence procurement in two decades. He was involved in the procurement of C-17s, C-130s, CH-47s, Leopard IIs, M-777s, AHSVS, and other system upgrades, delivering land and air systems to those who needed them. He also led the federal government’s efforts to review government spending across all departments to eliminate the deficit as part of Budget 2012 and carried that work through to Budget 2015.

“Neil has a deep understanding of the challenges that must be addressed when the private sector embarks on these initiatives and how to deftly navigate the multifaceted stakeholder landscape,” said Michelle McLean, General Manager, Ottawa. “With Neil’s addition to the team, H&K has unmatched experience and ability to support clients no matter their procurement goal or challenge.”

Neil joins H&K from his most recent position as Vice-President in another public affairs agency based in Ottawa where he worked in the aerospace, resource and telecom sectors including Leonardo Helicopters, TC Energy, NAV CANADA, and Agnico Eagle Mines. In his role at H& K, Neil will support the growth and innovation of our procurement work in the defence and commercial sectors, but also expand our procurement offering in the technology and health sectors.

“Over the past four decades, H&K has provided strategic counsel and advice to business leaders on many of the federal government’s most important procurements,” said Neil. “I feel proud to be joining a team with such an impressive track record of success, which sets the standard for others in the industry.”

H&K works with clients to help shape and identify emerging opportunities, enable stakeholder engagement, build winning themes and implement comprehensive government relations and campaign strategies. Our team includes subject matters experts drawing from decades of experience in the departments of Public Services and Procurement Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development, National Defence, Shared Services Canada, regional economic development agencies, and private industry.
