DS Smith appoints H+K as global partner for wide-ranging corporate, brand and sustainability brief

23 April, LONDON – Following a competitive pitch, international public relations agency Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has confirmed it has been appointed as global agency of record for FTSE 100 sustainable packaging provider, DS Smith.

H+K will provide strategic counsel, execute creative campaigns and deliver media relations and public affairs support across Europe and the US to support DS Smith’s packaging, recycling and paper divisions. The account will be led by H+K London with hubs in New York and Brussels.

“In the pitch process, H+K showed strategic nous and demonstrated an excellent understanding of our business and audiences. It was clear from the outset H+K shares our passion for sustainability and innovation, and they are the right partner for us as we live our purpose of redefining packaging for a changing world. Working together, we will demonstrate how DS Smith is innovating our business model and product offering to support a circular economy and highlight the sustainable and inclusive solutions we are delivering to our clients around the world.“ – Greg Dawson, Director of Corporate Affairs at DS Smith
“Packaging is facing more scrutiny than ever before with consumers, manufacturers, and retailers, and it is a real point of pride for us to be working with an organization like DS Smith that is at the forefront of sustainability and a catalyst for the circular economy.“ – Sara Jurkowsky, Managing Director of H+K’s Energy + Industrials practice in London

The pitch process formed part of a strategic review of communications by DS Smith as it consolidated its roster of agencies and followed the appointment of Shona Inglis as Head of Media Relations & Campaigns in 2019.
